Hampton Drive-In

Opened by the Washington-based Lust Circuit as the Sidney Lust Drive-In. With the Green Acres Auto Theatre just a few blocks away, Pembroke Avenue (then known as East 39th Street Extended, the route from Newport News out to Buckroe Beach) became quite the happening drive-in strip by the end of the '40s. Dropped the Lust name after the circuit sold it in 1969.
